This is a potential to hire opportunity in Springfield, MO.Press Brake Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Machine Setup & Operation - Set up and operate CNC and hydraulic press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal componentsSelect, install, and adjust appropriate punches, dies, and tooling for specific production runsRead and interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering drawings, and production schedulesProgram or modify machine settings, including bend angles, material thicknesses, and back-gauge positionsLoad, position, and align materials to ensure accurate and consistent forming operationsMonitor machine performance and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality and efficiencyQuality Control - Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to verify compliance with specificationsUse measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, protractors, angle gauges, and tape measuresIdentify defects, dimensional issues, and nonconforming materials and take corrective action when appropriateMaintenance & Troubleshooting - Perform daily machine inspections and routine preventive maintenanceTroubleshoot equipment, tooling, and setup issues to minimize downtimeReport equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with maintenance personnelMaintain tooling and work areas in clean and organized conditionSafety & Productivity - Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and lockout/tagout practicesWork safely around moving machinery, sheet metal, and fabrication equipmentMeet production objectives while maintaining quality standardsCollaborate with team members and supervisors to improve manufacturing processes and workflow efficiencyPress Brake Operator Requirements:Previous experience operating press brakes, brake presses requiredAbility to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions requiredWorking knowledge of metal fabrication processes and sheet metal formingStrong mathematical and measurement skillsAbility to use precision measuring instrumentsMechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilitiesStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityPreferred experience with CNC press brake programming and setupPreferred knowledge of bend deductions, tooling selection, and fabrication calculationsPreferred prior experience in a custom metal fabrication or manufacturing environmentForklift and overhead crane experience preferredFrequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 poundsStand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shiftHandle sheet metal and fabricated parts safelyAbility to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environmentCapable of performing repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standardsIND061 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
