Press Operator 2nd ShiftJB-CHI Oakton - Niles, IL 60714Salary Range $25.22 - $37.82 Hourly Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Travel Percentage None Category ManufacturingDescriptionJob Purpose: The Press Operator at JOHNS BYRNE CO is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials. This role requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure efficient production processes and meet client specifications.Key Responsibilities:Set up and operate printing presses according to job specifications and production schedules.Monitor print runs to ensure quality standards are met, making adjustments as necessary.Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press equipment to ensure optimal performance.Troubleshoot mechanical and printing issues to minimize downtime and ensure timely completion of print jobs.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and address any production challenges.Maintain accurate records of production runs, including materials used and job completion times.Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency in press operations.QualificationsRequired Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Press Operator in a manufacturing or printing environment. Proven track record of operating and maintaining printing presses, with a focus on quality and efficiency. Experience with troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues related to press operations. Required Skills and Abilities: Strong understanding of press operations, including setup, adjustment, and maintenance of printing equipment. Ability to read and interpret job orders and specifications to ensure accurate production. Proficiency in using measuring tools and equipment to ensure print quality and alignment. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and address operational issues. Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift materials as required.
