Job description
Operations JobSet-up and operate hydraulic punch presses according to process instructionsInspects products to verify conformance to specifications, including first piece inspection ensuring conformance to blueprintInspect dies, equipment and perform preventative and general maintenance on machineryMaintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures, regulations, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)Ensure all safety guarding is in place and properly workingComplete all safety sign-off sheets daily or as neededMaintain clean and safe work environmentComplete tasks per interpreted specifications, blueprints, and job orders to run job orders accurately and maximize productivityDocument all required production data and verify completion of worksheet (completion of work instruction sheet, identification tags and data entry of labor transaction)Perform other duties that may be assignedExperience verifying dimensions of parts, using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, thread gauges, depth gauges, and / or fixed gaugesBasic computer skillsAbility to perform basic math – add, subtract, multiply whole numbers, fractions and decimalsStrong orientation toward quality, safety and continuous improvementStrong attention to detailDesire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledgeAbility to read and understand procedure, routers and instructionBlue print reading preferredFlexibility in work assignmentsDemonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to changeMust be able to continuously perform grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and walkingMust be able to handle continuous standing 8-10 hours dailyMust be able to perform frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. independently and up to 70 lbs. with assistance.Must be able to work daily and weekly overtime as required.Previous manufacturing experience preferred but not requiredHowmet Aerospace Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a leading global provider of advanced engineered solutions for the aerospace and transportation industries.
