Job description
Press Set Up TechnicianOur client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Press Set Up Technician to join their dynamic team. As a Press Set Up Technician, you will be an integral part of the production department supporting manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully within the organization.Location: Allentown, PAShift: 1st ShiftWhat's the Job?Safely load, position, and align heavy dies using overhead cranes, forklifts, and die carts.Set press parameters including stroke, shut height, feed length, and tonnage according to spec sheets.Install and adjust auxiliary equipment such as coil feeders, straighteners, uncoilers, and scrap cutters.Conduct trial runs and use calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify part dimensions against blueprints.Identify and correct setup errors, die alignment issues, or mechanical malfunctions before releasing the press to production.RequiredPrevious experience as a Die Setter, Press Setup Technician, Setup Mechanic, or similar manufacturing role.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions.Experience using precision measuring devices, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.Knowledge of stamping presses and related tooling.Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.PreferredExperience with progressive dies and metal stamping operations.Forklift certification and/or overhead crane experience.Preventive maintenance experience.Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.What's in it for me?Opportunity to work with a reputable organization in the manufacturing industry.Engage in a role that promotes skill development and professional growth.Work in a supportive environment that values safety and quality.Be part of a team dedicated to excellence and continuous improvement.Contribute to meaningful production processes with a focus on safety and efficiency.
