The Press Assistant role is responsible for the set up and support of printing presses in accordance with the printing specifications and customer requirements/expectations.Why Work at MCC:Compensation: $22.00/hr.Generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance and 401(k)Paid Holidays: New Years, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, plus two floating holidaysResponsibilities:Comply with all company and safety policies and proceduresAttains and maintains all defined job objectives related to the planning and execution of all jobs and quick changesAssists in the performance of all external make-ready operations in preparation for changeover activities (changing from one label job to another)Assists in the performance of all external clean-up activities following changeoverCleans ink pans and ancillary equipmentStrips plates from cylindersLocates dies to and from pressMay be required to work with press operator to view labels with assistance of strobe lightComply with quality assurance specifications of the customer and MCCMay be required to complete quality assurance sheet and associated documentationResponsible for cleanliness of machinery and organization of the workspaceResponsible for working overtime when needed and as assignedRelated duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experiencePrint shop experience helpful, but not requiredAbility to communicate and interact well with others (verbally and written form); seen as a team playerAbility to read and understand a job ticketAbility to read a ruler and understand measurements (able to pass a ruler test)Ability correctable to 20/20 (able to pass an eye test)Ability to differentiate colors (able to pass a color test)Ability to input data in the computerAbility to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activitiesSelf-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructionsAbility to stand and move around press area for long periods of timeThe physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
