Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Correctional Care
Position: Correctional Facility Healthcare | Locum (40 hr/week) 06/29/2026 - 09/26/2026 | $70.00 /hr
Position Summary
Provides comprehensive primary care to incarcerated individuals in a structured clinical setting, managing acute and chronic conditions while working closely with healthcare and facility staff to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications Required
Education
Master’s degree or higher
Experience
Primary Care (1+ years)
Care Management (1+ years)
1+ years of experience in any of the following: Correctional Care
Correctional Medicine
Licenses/Certifications
Valid Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration
Any of the following valid licenses/certifications: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)
Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)
Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Any of the following valid licenses/certifications: American Red Cross Basic Life Support (ARC BLS)
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS)
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS)
Overview
Schedule: 4‑day work week, day shift, no weekends, standard holiday schedule
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
Provide sick‑call coverage and same‑day medical evaluations
Develop and monitor treatment plans
Educate patients regarding medications, disease management, and preventive healthcare
Maintain accurate documentation within the NextGen EMR system
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and facility staff to ensure quality patient care
