Job description
We are seeking a Locum Physician to provide comprehensive outpatient medical care focused on continuity of care, preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and patient wellness. This role is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a variety of health conditions while ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
This is a 60-day locum assignment located in Indianapolis, IN , with the potential for future opportunities, although permanent conversion is not guaranteed.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive outpatient medical care and treatment
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions
Conduct patient evaluations and maintain detailed medical histories and records
Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress
Focus on preventive care, wellness, and disease prevention initiatives
Educate patients on treatment options, health conditions, and healthy lifestyle practices
Coordinate care and refer patients to specialists when appropriate
Review diagnostic results and incorporate findings into care plans
Collaborate with clinical staff and healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care
Support initiatives designed to improve patient outcomes and patient experiences
Exercise independent clinical judgment in managing complex patient cases
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
Active and unrestricted medical license in the applicable state of practice Board Certification in: Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine, or Geriatric Medicine
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
Strong knowledge of outpatient and primary care medicine
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage complex patient care situations
Completion of required Tuberculosis (TB) screening for patient-facing healthcare roles
Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and improving patient experiences
Preferred Qualifications
Internal Medicine specialty training.
Experience in preventive care, value-based care, or population health management.
Experience working with diverse patient populations.
Strong collaboration and leadership skills within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
