We're partnering with an innovative software company operating at the intersection of AI, scientific research, and data engineering. Their platform helps some of the world's most advanced R&D organizations unlock value from complex scientific data, enabling faster discoveries and better outcomes through modern data and AI technologies.
They're looking for a technical leader who enjoys solving difficult problems, thrives in fast-moving environments, and wants to own customer-facing projects from concept through delivery.
This is a highly visible role where you'll combine deep technical expertise with leadership, mentoring, and customer engagement. You'll work across engineering, product, and scientific teams to design and deliver scalable data solutions that have a direct impact on customers and the business.
What you'll be doing:
Leading a team of engineers while remaining hands-on technically
Taking ownership of complex project delivery from requirements gathering through production deployment
Designing and building scalable data pipelines, data models, and data products using Python
Working closely with customers and cross-functional stakeholders to solve challenging scientific and data engineering problems
Driving technical design discussions and architectural decisions
Mentoring engineers and helping elevate technical standards across the team
Building reusable frameworks, components, and tools that enable future scalability
Navigating ambiguity, removing blockers, and ensuring successful customer outcomes
What we're looking for:
Extensive experience in data engineering, data modeling and building data pipelines
Strong Python and SQL expertise
Proven technical leadership experience with responsibility for project delivery and engineering teams
A track record of successfully leading complex, customer-facing implementations
The ability to balance technical depth with stakeholder management and business outcomes
Someone who is naturally curious, loves learning, and enjoys tackling unfamiliar challenges
A proactive self-starter who takes ownership rather than waiting for direction
Comfortable making decisions and driving progress in environments where requirements may not always be perfectly defined
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to lead technical conversations with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have:
Experience with data visualization tools, dashboards, or modern application development
Exposure to scientific, healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotech, manufacturing, or laboratory data environments
Experience working with AI-driven data solutions
