Job description

AngloGold Ashanti is a global gold mining company with a diverse, high-quality portfolio of operations, projects and exploration activities across 10 countries on four continents. We pursue value-creating opportunities involving other minerals, where we can leverage our existing assets, shareholdings, skills and experience.

Our six values – safety, respect, integrity, sustainability, excellence, and collaboration – are at the heart of our culture, serving as a guide to our behaviour in the way we interact with each other, our environment, as well as our neighbours and stakeholders.

Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, the Company is committed to operational excellence, disciplined capital allocation, and sustainable value creation. AngloGold Ashanti has its primary listing on the NYSE and secondary listings on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (A2X and JSE) and the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE). For this role, you must demonstrate broad experience in underground mine design, process modeling, and schedule optimization via the application of advanced mining tools.

You will work in cross-functional teams and collaborate with other SMEs to deliver the scope and schedule for each GSP engagement or program of work. Teams adapt based on project scope and frequently include experts from outside the core GSP department.

Support technical due diligence exercises and major studies, providing expert advice and mine planning expertise.

Build and maintain professional networks within the mining industry to stay abreast of emerging technologies, best practices, and market trends.

Safety and Cultural Commitment

Demonstrate and promote a proactive safety culture, identifying risks and addressing emerging issues during site visits and within team interactions.

Model behavior consistent with AngloGold Ashanti's Safety Vision, Values, and Procedures, fostering an environment where safety is integral to all operations.

People and Collaboration

Develop productive relationships with leaders and stakeholders throughout the organization to drive collaborative success.

Mentor and coach colleagues to strengthen the strategic mine planning discipline across AngloGold Ashanti, supporting talent development and knowledge transfer.
