Our client is a leading multidisciplinary design and consulting firm with a strong presence across Florida and a growing Landscape Architecture practice. They work across a diverse range of projects, partnering with clients and design professionals to create thoughtful, functional, and sustainable environments.
They are looking for an experienced Principal Landscape Architect to help lead and grow their Sarasota-area practice. This is an opportunity for a senior professional who enjoys both design leadership and business development and is looking to play a key role in the continued growth of a landscape architecture team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead landscape architecture projects from concept through implementation across a range of project types.
Provide design direction, technical oversight, and mentorship to landscape architecture staff.
Work closely with clients, architects, engineers, planners, and other consultants.
Build and maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for new business.
Support proposals, interviews, presentations, and other business development initiatives.
Help grow and strengthen the local landscape architecture practice.
Oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing, and overall project delivery.
Contribute to the development of design standards, processes, and best practices.
Mentor and develop junior and mid-level landscape architects.
Ideal Background
Licensed Landscape Architect (PLA) preferred/required.
Significant professional experience within Landscape Architecture.
Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of project experience.
Proven ability to lead projects and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Strong client relationship and communication skills.
Experience with business development, proposal efforts, or growing a practice is highly valued.
Ability to mentor and lead a team while remaining actively involved in project delivery.
Experience working within a multidisciplinary design, engineering, planning, or consulting environment is a plus.
