Position Overview
Location: Tucson, AZ (1151 E Hermans Rd, Building M02)
Type: Onsite. U.S. citizenship required and an active Secret security clearance must be maintained.
Salary Range: 107,500 – 204,500 USD.
What You Will Do
Design, analyze, simulate, test, and document power conversion circuitry for motor control systems.
Develop board‑mounted power electronics, 3‑phase inverter design, sensor interfacing, and controller circuits.
Lead circuit card development through requirements, design, integration testing, and schedule management.
Guide ECAD drafters in layout, routing, and layer stack‑up.
Participate as SME on Controls Hardware Electronics.
Qualifications (Must)
Degree in STEM; minimum 8 years of relevant experience or advanced degree + 5 years of relevant experience.
Design, analysis, test, or simulation experience with motor types (Brushed, BLDC, PMSM) preferred.
Experience with tools such as MATLAB, MathCAD, Mathematica.
Analog electronics design experience (FETs/BJTs, op‑amps, band‑pass filters, clock/data termination, comparator circuits).
Lab experience using oscilloscopes, DMMs, frequency generators, power supplies, and data acquisition systems.
Familiarity with wide‑bandgap devices (SiC, GaN) and high‑voltage or high‑power (>400V, >10kW) designs.
Three‑phase power systems, power‑factor control, inverter/rectifier development.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
Self‑starter, quick learner, strong time management, and appreciation for team structure.
Experience communicating and documenting technical topics at a small‑team level.
Experience with SIMPLIS, SABER, Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, or HyperLynx.
Multi‑phase inverter design for HV applications, multi‑isolated power system design, hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing, and military specifications.
Program‑management tools such as Earned Value.
