We are seeking Cleared Platform Engineers to join our team. We are looking for a Principal Platform DevOps Engineer - Windows OS for our environment; a mix of servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom hardware, for a large Project producing a critical, strategic national asset. The skills for this need will include someone who is very familiar with the Windows Operating system and can work through the OS configuration and optimization for these environments which would involve a mixture of hands-on keyboard, engineering work, as well as documentation and baseline control.

What You Will Do

You will leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with design, development, implementation, and support of DevOps / DevSecOps development of our Windows based hosts for the project

You will support software deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts to support program need for the effort

You will Design, implement, generate code through DevOps concepts and scripting tools, test, document, and maintain the system

You will assist with development of build/test and integration, optimizing for performance and scalability across our on-premises and Cloud based computing environments

You will provide guidance on resource allocation & utilization

You will assist engineers with Windows based tool usage and issues, leveraging standards and best practices

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics and a minimum 8 years of related work experience

Proven experience installing, configuring, hardening, and maintaining Windows environments

Hands‑on experience designing, implementing, and integrating cloud infrastructure solutions, preferably with AWS

Strong experience with IaC and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Chef, and/or Ansible

Experience troubleshooting complex systems involving multiple servers, COTS products, VMs, VDIs, and/or network issues

Active and Current TS/SCI with CI Poly security clearance is required on day 1. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

Advanced troubleshooting skills for Windows platform, performance, reliability, and distributed system availability issues

Extensive Windows OS development and deployment experience

Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python and Bash for automation and workflow development

Experience in Active Directory designs and implementation

Experience with the Agile development lifecycle

Experience with SAFe agile processes

Knowledge of Enterprise Application development and deployment processesWindows MCSE Certification or similar security+ certification

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
