Job description
A leading technology company located in Southwestern Ohio is looking for a Principal Sensor Engineer. Must be willing to relocate to Southwest Ohio.
Job Duties
Manage research and product development projects in nuclear and radiation science and technology
Conduct experiments and tests utilizing instrumentation to detect radiation
Analyze data using data analysis software
Develop computer models and simulations to analyze radiation sensors and predict behavior under real-time conditions
Provide technical support to projects related to radiation — design reviews, safety analysis, regulatory compliance
Develop technical documentation including reports, specifications, and procedures
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, physicists, technicians, and operations
Stay up-to-date by participating in industry conferences and technical meetings
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations for radiation facilities and systems
Qualifications
PhD in Nuclear Engineering, Nuclear Science, or a related field
8+ years of experience in nuclear engineering research and development
Technical knowledge of nuclear materials, systems, and radiation protection
Solid background with instrumentation and measurement techniques for radiation detection
Experience with data acquisition methods and high-impedance circuit design
Knowledge of advanced data analysis techniques
Excellent problem-solving skills and creative thinking
Solid communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and knowledge with Ion chambers
Experience with designing digital filters and digital signal processing
Predictive data analysis experience with machine learning
