Prior Authorization RepresentativeLocation: 100% Remote Pay Rate: $22/hr, paid weekly Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, local time Duration: 2-Year ContractOverviewThe Prior Authorization Representative supports insurance verification and prior authorization activities for patient therapies. This position works closely with physician offices, insurance payers, and internal teams to verify coverage, determine authorization requirements, submit supporting documentation, and follow authorization requests through approval.Key ResponsibilitiesVerify patient insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits.Identify coverage limitations, authorization requirements, and insurance-related issues.Initiate and process prior authorization requests with insurance payers.Gather and submit required documentation, including clinical notes, forms, and supporting records.Follow up with insurance payers to track authorization status and help facilitate timely approvals.Assist with denied authorizations, appeals, retroactive authorizations, and other complex cases.Communicate professionally with physician offices, payer representatives, utilization reviewers, sales representatives, and internal teams.Maintain accurate and detailed documentation throughout the authorization process.Manage multiple authorization cases and priorities simultaneously.Identify and resolve insurance or authorization barriers that may delay patient access to therapy.QualificationsPrior experience with prior authorizations, insurance verification, benefits verification, healthcare reimbursement, or a related healthcare function preferred.Understanding of insurance payer processes and prior authorization requirements.Familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT codes.Strong customer service and verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational, follow-up, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.Ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.Ability to learn and navigate multiple CRM and healthcare software systems.Benefits: Employee contribution may apply.Health insurance.Health savings account.Dental insurance.Vision insurance.Flexible spending accounts.Life insurance.Retirement plan.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
