Job description
Provides advisory-based sales and relationship management to attract, retain and grow a portfolio of prospect and client relationships and deliver an exceptional client experience. Demonstrates an understanding of and care for the client through proactive delivery of holistic advice and solutions designed to meet the client’s specific financial planning needs. Coordinates and integrated team of subject matter experts to craft and execute creative solutions for the client.
nnnDevelops and executes the business development strategy, sales targets and the sales results for the assigned region.

nnDevelops internal and external networks and referral sources to grow business in the assigned portfolio / jurisdiction.
n
nnEnhances presence in the marketplace by collaborating with other experts (e.g. internal team, outside attorneys, accountants) to create integrated business development plan.
n
nnAct as the primary Relationship Manager for assigned client relationships
n
nnLeads / assists with creation business proposals or presentations (e.g. relationship plans, financial plans and reviews)
n
nnLeads Annual Client Review with team members to evaluate changing needs, increase communication with client, and implement the client experience.
n
nnProduces client reports that demonstrate the value provided and assesses clients at-risk for retention.
n
nnMakes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.
n
nnActs as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
n
nnMay network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.
n
nnProactively identifies client needs and concerns to diagnose and facilitate resolution of client issues.
n
nnIntroduces subject matter experts to the client.
n
nnShares wealth solutions expertise and product knowledge across regional team.
n
nnDevelops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
n
nnManages resources and leads the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.
n
nnRecommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements and develops roadmap for strategic execution.
n
nnConducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
n
nnActs as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.
n
nnBuilds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
n
nnEnsures alignment between stakeholders.
n
nnBridges banking, trust and investment disciplines together for client communications when the full relationship exists.
n
nnBreaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
n
nnMonitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.
n
nnDesigns and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
n
nnBuilds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
n
nnLeads or participates in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.
n
nnLeads the execution of operational programs; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.
n
nnOversees the design, development, and implementation of tools and training required to deliver business results.
n
nnLeads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core business/group processes.
n
nnDevelops and manages a business/group program.
n
nnReviews the program for effectiveness, considers industry trends and recommends enhancements; makes changes as required.
n
nnUses an advisory-based financial planning approach to manage opportunities and relationships.
n
nnSupports the achievement of the business plan within the designated territory / region.
n
nnCollaborates effectively with internal stakeholders to build capability and drive business growth.
n
nnMeets high-quality service standards to maximize relationship retention and growth.
n
nnDevelops rapport and instills confidence with the client to develop credibility and earn their trust.
n
nnFollows through on the risk and compliance processes and policies to ensure we safeguard our customers’ assets, maintain their privacy, act in their best interests, and ensures an effectively run function.
n
nnProtects the Bank's assets and complies with all regulatory, legal and ethical requirements.
n
nnOperates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
n
nnApplies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
n
nnImplements changes in response to shifting trends.
n
nnBroader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. Qualifications:
n
nnTypically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
n
nnMBA certification preferred.
n
nnExperience dealing with HNW clients and equivalent knowledge base.
n
nnCertified Financial Planner is preferred.
n
nnBroad knowledge of all facets of wealth management.
n
nnIn-depth / expert knowledge of Bank products, services and capabilities.
n
nnSeasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
n
nnVerbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.
n
nnAnalytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.
n

n

n$120,000.00 - $250,000.00

nThe above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
nSalaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
nBMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
