Position Summary
The Chief of Staff provides exceptional service to our clients and supports Financial Advisors (FAs), Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs), and their teams on a daily basis. This senior service level position manages all business operations and oversees essential activities of support professionals, ensuring their productivity and alignment with team priorities and business goals. The Chief of Staff leads the development, implementation, and management of the team’s strategic plan to align priorities with business objectives and oversees client service initiatives such as business development, marketing, and client relationship operations to help the team scale their business.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee support professionals to ensure alignment on team priorities and business goals.
Coordinate business matters, directing them to appropriate contacts, addressing them efficiently, and tracking progress until resolved.
Guide strategic initiatives to achieve desired results, including tracking asset acquisition, growth, and performance of FAs/PWAs/teams.
Organize and prioritize critical issues and information to facilitate efficient decision‑making for advisors.
Support advisors in enhancing new and existing client relationships through an exceptional client experience.
Assess client service needs, determine appropriate actions, and delegate tasks to team members.
Manage team client communications strategy.
Work with the Business Service Officer (BSO) to interview candidates, train team members, and provide input on staff performance.
Evaluate and implement new services offered by the firm, integrating them into the current service offering.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
10+ years of work experience in a relevant field.
Advanced degree, professional certification, or prior industry experience.
Active Series7 (GS) and Series66 (AG/RA) or Series63 (AG) and Series65 (RA). Willingness to obtain additional licenses/designations as required.
Strong leadership skills.
Knowledge of financial services products (equities, bonds, options, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, managed accounts).
Technically proficient and quick learner of new and updated platforms.
Detail‑oriented with superior organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
Expert knowledge of basic PC, MS Office (especially Excel), and internet applications.
Exceptional writing, interpersonal, and client‑service skills.
Strong time‑management skills.
Team player with ability to collaborate.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
Adaptable and able to multi‑task.
Goal‑oriented, self‑motivated, and results‑driven.
Reports To
Business Service Officer and/or Market Business Service Officer
Compensation
Expected base pay range: $68,000 – $120,000 per year at commencement of employment. Total compensation may include commission, incentive, discretionary bonuses, and other benefit programs.
