(RRSI)Flexible Schedule | $18.00 Per Hour | Shift Differential | PRN Shift IncentivePosition SummaryThe PRN Direct Support Professional (DSP) serves as an important member of the RRSI staffing team by providing flexible coverage for staffing shortages, employee absences, vacations, and other operational needs across our residential and supervised living programs.PRN staff play a critical role in maintaining quality services and supporting the individuals we serve while helping to reduce overtime and strengthen staffing stability throughout the organization.This position is ideal for experienced caregivers, students, retirees, or individuals seeking a flexible work schedule while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.PRN staff work under the coordination of the Master Schedule and may be assigned to any RRSI residential or supervised living program based on organizational needs.Position ClassificationPRN / Part-TimeNon-ExemptFlexible ScheduleReports to the Program SupervisorCoordinates with the Master SchedulerCompensation$18.00 per hour base wage$1.50 per hour shift differential for hours worked between 4:00 PM and 7:00 AM$20 PRN Shift Incentive for each shift coordinated and agreed upon with the Staffing Coordinator and worked during the applicable pay periodThe PRN Shift Incentive is designed to reward flexibility, improve staffing responsiveness, and reduce overtime utilization.Purpose of the PositionThe PRN DSP position is intended to:Provide staffing support during employee calloutsAssist with planned PTO coverageFill temporary staffing vacanciesSupport weekend and holiday operationsReduce overtime utilizationSupport community outings and activitiesStrengthen staffing flexibility across programsEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesIn addition to the essential functions of a Direct Support Professional, the PRN DSP will:Provide quality direct support services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesPromote independence, dignity, and community inclusionAssist with activities of daily livingSupport community participation, appointments, and recreational activitiesAdminister medications as trained and authorizedComplete required documentation accurately and timelyFollow all agency policies and proceduresAdapt to different residential settings and staffing assignmentsAvailability ExpectationsTo remain an active member of the PRN Pool, employees must:Work a minimum of two (2) shifts per monthMaintain flexibility to accept shifts as organizational needs ariseMaintain updated contact information with the Staffing CoordinatorRespond to staffing requests in a timely mannerHonor shifts that have been acceptedAvailable shifts may include:Morning shiftsMid shiftsEvening shiftsOvernight shifts (10:00 PM – 8:00 AM or 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM)Weekend assignmentsHoliday assignmentsWork Assignment ExpectationsPRN DSP staff understand that:Assignments may vary from week to weekThey may be scheduled to work in any RRSI residential or supervised living programFlexibility is an essential function of this positionStaffing assignments will be coordinated through the Master SchedulerPRN Pool ExpectationsPRN employees are expected to:Maintain a professional attendance recordRemain current with all required agency trainingMaintain required certificationsComplete any client-specific training requirementsParticipate in required agency seminars and educational opportunitiesDemonstrate professionalism and teamwork when accepting assignmentsFailure to maintain training compliance or reliability standards may affect continued participation in the PRN Pool.Staffing Coordination ProcessThe Master Scheduler will oversee PRN staffing assignments.When staffing needs arise, the Master Scheduler will:Review staffing needsContact available PRN staffCoordinate and confirm shift assignmentsDocument staffing commitmentsTrack PRN responsiveness and participationReliability StandardsThe success of the PRN Pool depends upon dependability and responsiveness.The Staffing Coordinator will monitor:Shift acceptance ratesAttendance and punctualityResponsiveness to staffing requestsTraining complianceOverall reliabilityPRN staff who consistently fail to respond to staffing requests, repeatedly cancel accepted shifts, or fail to maintain training requirements may be removed from the active PRN Pool.Employees may voluntarily withdraw from the PRN Pool at any time and are encouraged to provide reasonable notice whenever possible.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDExperience in human services, healthcare, caregiving, or residential services preferredValid Virginia driver's license with an acceptable driving recordAbility to safely transport individuals when requiredStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilitiesMedication Aide certification or willingness to obtainExperience with electronic documentation systemsDemonstrated flexibility, maturity, and reliabilityKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to adapt to changing work environmentsStrong problem-solving skillsCommitment to person-centered
