PRN Registration Coordinator I (RCI) FloatThe PRN Registration Coordinator I (RCI) Float serves as the first point of contact for patients, clients, and visitors and is responsible for providing excellent customer service. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring efficient administrative operations. Responsibilities encompass greeting individuals, managing administrative tasks such as collecting and verifying patient/client information, handling phone communications, scheduling appointments, maintaining patient/client records, and strictly adhering to confidentiality and HIPAA regulations. The position demands multitasking abilities and a commitment to outstanding patient/client support. This is a PRN float position, which includes a designated home clinic as your primary location. However, you may be assigned to provide coverage at other clinics within Knox and surrounding counties as needed. An effort will be made to provide advanced notice if coverage is needed, however, flexibility is required for a float position, to ensure adequate clinic staffing, and hours are not guaranteed for a PRN position.Essential FunctionsGreets patients and visitors professionally and courteouslyVerify and update patient/client information upon arrivalSchedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments using our electronic health record (EHR) systemAnswers incoming calls and route appropriatelyTake accurate messages and relay to the correct staffEnsure all required forms are completed and scanned into the EHRCollect copayments and provide receipts as neededMonitor the flow of patients in the waiting areaEnsure a clean, safe, and welcoming environmentAct as a liaison between patients and medical staffHandle faxing, scanning, and sorting mail as neededAdhere to HIPAA regulations and practice policies on patient privacy and information securityFollow all established protocols and policiesOther duties as assignedWork-Related ExperienceMinimum 2 years of customer service experience preferredExperience in a healthcare or medical setting is preferredFamiliarity with Electronic Health Record system preferredPhysical Demands and Work Environment MentalStrong critical thinking and decision-making skills in dynamic patient care settings.Ability to remain calm and effective and make critical decisions in high-pressure situations.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and multitasking abilities.Emotional resilience when working with patients experiencing crisis, trauma, or chronic illnesses.Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries.PhysicalFrequent standing, walking and reachingAbility to perform repetitive motions, including typing for EHR documentation.Occasional exposure to bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and hazardous materials; adherence to infection control protocols is required.Prolonged sitting at a desk with frequent computer use.Must be able to travel between clinical locations as needed to provide coverage or support.Working ConditionsClean, well-lit and ventilated office environmentEducation, Certification, and LicensureEducation: High School graduate or equivalentLicensure: Valid Driver's LicenseSkillsOrganizational and multitasking skillsEffective verbal and written communicationProficient in typing, data entry, and confidentiality
