Our mission is to advance the health and wellbeing of our communities as a leader in clinical laboratory solutions.Location: Houston, TexasStatus: Full-time Days: Monday-Friday Hours: 8am-5pm Benefit EligibleIn this role, you will:Provide exceptional patient care and customer-focused service.Utilize technical skills and abilities to accurately resolve issues for basic customer related issues.Must be familiar with the appropriate protocol for ordering, tracking, crediting, noting out and canceling tests in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).Provide a link between the technical sections of CPL and customer service and/or CPL remote locations following laboratory procedures in resolving problems.Must be familiar with test requesting, labeling, specimen storage and retrieval, how to track all specimens received for testing.Provide specimen requirements, reference ranges and information on specimen stability.Receive and initiates communication from/to customer service/CPL remote locations to discuss resolution of problems.Correctly identify proper tubes, containers, transport media and storage temperature for each test type.Determines specimen acceptability, consulting specimen requirements in the Laboratory Information System.Communicate with laboratory staff and customer service to ensure quality patient care.Ensure proper specimen processing, labeling, and test ordering.Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.All you need is:High School Diploma or equivalentPrevious phlebotomy training or experienceExcellent communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentBasic computer and data entry skillsBonus points if you've got:2+ years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processingCertification from the American Society of Phlebotomy TechniciansAssociate's degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institutionWe'll give you:Appreciation for your workA feeling of satisfaction that you've helped peopleOpportunity to grow in your professionFree lab services for you and your eligible dependentsWork-life balance, including Paid Time Off and Paid HolidaysCompetitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insuranceHelp saving for retirement, with a 401(k) that includes a generous company matchA sense of belonging – we are a community!We also want you to know:This role will have routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI).
