KP Staffing is now hiring Process Development Engineers in Houston, TX!
The Process Development Engineer will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for a growing Houston manufacturing operation. This role will work closely with engineering, production, quality, and operations teams to develop efficient, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing processes from design through production.

$96,000 - $110,000/year

Duties
Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing and assembly processes
Support production line setup, workflow, tooling, fixtures, equipment, and manufacturing layouts
Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, quality, safety, and consistency
Support new product introduction and the transition of designs from engineering into production
Apply design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly principles
Develop process documentation, work instructions, manufacturing standards, and procedures
Troubleshoot manufacturing, assembly, and production issues
Support process validation and continuous improvement activities
Partner with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve manufacturability
Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and recommend improvements
Support automation, tooling, and equipment improvement projects
Assist with developing scalable manufacturing processes as production volume increases
Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective action activities
Support the implementation of standardized production methods and best practices
Responsibilities
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes
Support manufacturing launches and new product introduction
Improve production efficiency, quality, and repeatability
Partner effectively with engineering and production teams
Develop manufacturing documentation and work instructions
Support tooling, fixtures, automation, and production equipment
Troubleshoot manufacturing and process-related issues
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production operations
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering discipline
Experience in manufacturing, process engineering, production engineering, or a related environment
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, and production equipment
Experience developing or improving manufacturing processes
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
Experience working closely with manufacturing and production teams
Understanding of design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly principles
Experience developing process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing standards
Experience supporting new product introduction or manufacturing launches preferred
Experience with automation or production equipment improvements preferred
Preferred experience within industrial equipment, modular manufacturing, prefabrication, electrical/mechanical systems, or a related manufacturing environment
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively in a growing and evolving manufacturing operation
