Process Engineer - CNC ProgrammerReporting to the Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer - CNC Programmer is responsible for developing and documenting CNC and manual machining processes. Duties include hands on development, troubleshooting, CNC programming, process definition, standard work, tool design & improvement, and process control documentationResponsibilities:Act as the technical liaison between Engineering and ManufacturingResponsible for programming (machining/forming/robot) depending on focus/assignmentAssist with design and approval of tool designs for critical processingCapture the process information (ex. tooling/fixturing concepts, rollers, inserts, tool holders, speeds, feeds, etc.) necessary for detailed process definition and controlProvide estimating support and input through running process simulations, developing layouts, and tool concepts for costing/quotingAnalyze and improve existing machining operations to reduce cycle time, improve tool life, and enhance part qualityLead root cause analysis and corrective actions for machining-related issuesCollaborate with Quality, Materials, and Manufacturing teams to implement new materials, equipment, and technologiesSupport the introduction of new products and equipment, including CNC programming and process validationPerform observation/time studies for developing standards and improving processes for feedback to the Project EngineerReview QA supplied control plans and inspection logs as requiredCreate visual instructions with process definition and control for safe manufacturing processes such as Process Control documents (PCs), Work Instructions (WI), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)Analyze technology and resource needs to plan and assess the feasibility of processes and associated equipmentAssist maintenance with troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of machines when necessaryAssist with schedules and project status updates using MS Project for new ordersAssist in evaluating and/or dispositioning nonconformance reports and provide/implement correction actionAssist with developing PFMEAs where and/or when necessary to mitigate process riskOrganize and evaluate process and cost data (ex. planned vs. actual) to support decision-making activitiesManage drawings, data sets, models, part lists, and specifications in accordance with internal controlsEvaluate, research, and provide feedback on new technologiesParticipating in internal or external presentations related to Engineering topicsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety and quality proceduresOccasionally visit clients, vendors, and suppliersAttending meetings and trainings as assignedComplete projects as assignedTeam Responsibilities:Have a daily presence on the manufacturing floor to work collaboratively with shop teamSupport other divisional business units as directed by managerQualifications:Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering preferred but not required3-5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or machining environmentStrong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologiesProficient in CNC machining, GD&T, cutting tool technology, and metalworking principlesProficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and project management tools (e.g., MS Project)Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn other softwareReliable transportationStrong interpersonal and problem-solving skillsHigh level of confidentiality and professionalism when interacting with clients & vendorsExceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to build and maintain strong working relationshipsAbility to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to detailsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamRegularly required to move, sit, and bend for various hours throughout the day
