Job description

Process Maintenance SupervisorThe Process Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities within a gold processing operation to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. This role provides day-to-day supervision of maintenance personnel, coordinates planned and corrective maintenance, and works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance Planning teams to maximize equipment availability and minimize unplanned downtime.The successful candidate will have strong experience maintaining mineral processing equipment in a mining environment, demonstrated supervisory skills, and a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.Responsibilities include supervising and providing daily direction to mechanical and/or electrical maintenance personnel supporting the gold processing plant, coordinating planned, preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and plant reliability, prioritizing maintenance work based on safety, production requirements, equipment condition, and operational priorities, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with site procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements, monitoring the condition and performance of critical process equipment and identifying opportunities to prevent failures and improve reliability, supporting maintenance of equipment including crushers, conveyors, screens, grinding mills, pumps, cyclones, thickeners, flotation equipment, agitators, tanks, piping, valves, and other mineral-processing equipment, coordinating with Operations to safely isolate equipment and establish appropriate lockout/tagout and energy-control requirements before work begins, reviewing work orders, maintenance schedules, equipment history, and backlog to ensure effective execution of planned work, coordinating contractors and service providers working within the processing plant as required, conducting pre-shift meetings, toolbox talks, job briefings, and other safety communications, ensuring employees and contractors follow site safety, environmental, housekeeping, and operating procedures, investigating equipment failures and recurring maintenance issues and implementing corrective actions, participating in root-cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives for critical plant equipment, monitoring maintenance performance, including equipment availability, downtime, work completion, backlog, and maintenance costs, ensuring accurate maintenance records, work orders, equipment histories, and shift reports are completed, working closely with Maintenance Planning and Reliability teams to develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, supporting shutdowns, turnarounds, major maintenance campaigns, and planned plant outages, managing maintenance priorities during unplanned equipment failures and production interruptions, identifying opportunities for improved maintenance practices, equipment modifications, and cost-effective reliability improvements, coaching, mentoring, and developing maintenance personnel, including providing performance feedback and identifying training needs, ensuring appropriate tools, parts, materials, and resources are available to execute maintenance work effectively, maintaining strong communication with Processing, Mine Operations, Engineering, Metallurgy, and other site departments, and promoting a culture of accountability, safety ownership, teamwork, and continuous improvement.The above duties and responsibilities represent the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.Education and Experience includes a high school diploma or equivalent required, an associate degree, technical diploma, or trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, or a related discipline preferred, relevant journeyman/trade certification in mechanical, millwright, electrical, instrumentation, or a related discipline is highly desirable, additional training or certification in maintenance management, reliability, leadership, or industrial safety is an asset, 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably within mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial operations, 2+ years of supervisory or lead-hand experience managing maintenance personnel in a production environment, demonstrated experience maintaining equipment used in gold processing or other hard-rock mineral processing operations, strong working knowledge of mechanical equipment such as crushers, conveyors, mills, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, screens, piping systems, valves, and process equipment, experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), experience planning and executing plant shutdowns and major maintenance activities, demonstrated ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and coordinate timely corrective action, experience working with contractors and coordinating multiple maintenance activities simultaneously, working knowledge of industrial safety practices, energy isolation/LOTO, confined-space requirements, and applicable mining safety standards, experience working
