Job description

Process OperatorAimHire is hiring Process Operators for a global specialty chemicals company in Wallingford, CT! This organization is a leading manufacturer of coating resins and additives that make products more durable, scratch-resistant, and corrosion-resistant. Its technology goes into automotive finishes, smartphone coatings, aircraft interiors, wood flooring, and more.They want hardworking, engaged people who are eager to learn and grow quickly. No chemical experience is required, and paid training runs 3–6 months on day shift. This is a hands-on production role in a working plant environment with strong smells and sticky liquid products, so it's a great fit if you like staying busy and don't mind getting a little messy. Hard hats, safety glasses, face shields, chemical-resistant clothing, and uniforms are all provided. There's also room to grow into higher-level roles over time.This is an on-site, direct hire position starting at $36.95/hr, with scheduled raises up to $40.95/hr within 18 months. Shift differentials are +$0.75/hr for 2nd shift and +$1.00/hr for 3rd. Employees work a set shift (no rotation) on a 6-days-on, 2-days-off schedule. The start date is ASAP.Shifts1st Shift: 8:00am – 4:00pm2nd Shift: 4:00pm – 12:00am3rd Shift: 12:00am – 8:00amResponsibilitiesOperate automated and manual downstream process equipment, including filtration, packaging, centrifuges, filter presses, and kettlesCharge raw materials into reactors, blend tanks, and bins as directed by leads and supervisorsPump, transfer, and package finished product into bulk storage, tank wagons, drums, pails, and totesOperate a forklift and move tank wagons and materials around the site (training provided)Take samples, monitor tank temperatures, and make process adjustmentsLabel and track all drums, pails, and samples accuratelyComplete SAP entries, batch records, and other documentation on timeInspect equipment for safe operation and keep work areas clean and organizedHandle hazardous materials and waste safely, following all safety, environmental, and quality proceduresCommunicate with production and plant teams to keep operations running safely and efficientlyRequirementsHigh School Diploma or GEDChemical operator or manufacturing experience preferred but not requiredWillingness to operate a forklift (no prior experience needed)Comfortable working around strong odors, hazardous materials, and a non-clean production environment, with occasional outdoor workAbility to read and follow complex written instructions and batch tickets in EnglishBasic math, reading comprehension, and problem-solving skillsAbility to lift up to 55 lbs occasionally and 30 lbs frequently, and to stand and walk for most of the shiftStrong work ethic, attention to detail, and an eagerness to learnMust live locally (no relocation assistance)AimHire is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
