Processing Assistant IVPerson County Government is recruiting for a Processing Assistant IV for the Health Department. This position is assigned to the Management Support section of a medium sized agency, which provides management support to all programs, program coordinators and clinic services. Within this section this position performs management support duties for the following programs: Maternal Health, Family Planning, Adult Health, STD, Tuberculosis, Communicable Disease, and Immunizations.The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience. Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy. This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually. If the position you are applying for requires a degree, education verification will be required as part of the hiring process.Essential FunctionsEligibility—90% Provides clerical support for Family Planning, Maternal Health, STI, Tuberculosis, Communicable Disease, and Immunization programs while adhering to the rules and regulations regarding these services.Determines eligibility for Family Planning, Maternal Health, STI, and Immunization programs.Updates demographics for each patientVerifies insurance statusVerifies household incomeHas patient sign appropriate forms for the visitProvides direct clerical support to the Family Planning Program CoordinatorOther Responsibilities—10% Covers front desk as needed which includes answering phone, transferring calls, making appointments, checking in/out clients, and posting payments.Assists the Communicable Disease Nurse in utilizing NCEDSS to access patient data to handle cases and treatment.Prepare minutes after each Staff meeting and Management Support meeting.Represents Management Support staff on various committees as assignedAssists with offsite vaccination clinics and community events as neededFaxes or mails medical records in accordance with the Medical Records PolicyOther duties as assigned by the Management Support Supervisor and/or Health DirectorMinimum Education and Experience RequirementsMinimum Training Required: Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through at least two years of office/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.Special Certifications and LicensesMust possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.Person County conducts pre-employment screening on candidates. Job offers are conditional pending the following: A pre-employment drug screen for all candidates. Positions designated by Person County as Safety Sensitive are also subject to random drug and alcohol testing.A background check for all candidates.
