Processor - Part TimeGoodwill Industries of NCPA Inc - Falls Creek, PA 15840OverviewSalary Range $10.75 Hourly Position Type Part Time Job Shift Day Category Entry LevelDescriptionPurpose: To sort, price, ticket and coordinate processing of clothing/wares to maintain adequate production quotas, maintain the flow of goods based on volume of donations.Function: Sort, price and ticket product, separate, package, and inventory wares, and supply processed shoes to assure production quotas and deadlines are met. Quality, material control, general housekeeping, safety, works performed is to be within acceptable quality standards. Performs other related duties as directed by the Plant Supervisors.Essential Functions:Performs production activities as designated by Plant Supervisors.The understanding/commitment to the Goodwill MissionMust be able to work with people with all abilitiesQuality and material controlGeneral housekeeping and safetyRecognize use, style, value, saleable, salvage, trash and seasonalMaintain quota based on volume of donationsSort, price and tag/ticket merchandiseBox salvage merchandise (shoes, books, belts, etc.)Mark everything that will leave the building CLEARLYDirect obvious trash from box or pileMaintains work station; cleanliness, neatness, orderliness, safe conditions for staff and performing proper fire safety procedures.Box items to be shippedDo seasonal items as they come in and box for storageClean when necessaryMust be able to stand for long periods of time, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; push or pull. Must be able to occasionally sit, kneel, squat, and climb. Must be able to regularly stoop, bend, reach turn and twist body and lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Cross train in other areas as neededPerforms other related duties as directed by Plant Supervisors.Duties and Responsibilities:Follows the policies, procedures and special instructions set down by the President and CEO, Executive Vice President, and Plant Supervisors.Investigates and reports unsatisfactory conditions in the Plant to Plant Supervisors and/or Executive Vice President of Retail, being sure to follow the chain of command.Relations:Establish and maintain relations with the following: Lead Processor, Plant Supervisors and/or Executive Vice President of Retail for coordination of efforts, other workers in organization, assists in work, performs production activities, and related work.Standards for Measuring Performance:Degree to which standards are reached.Degree to which quotas are reachedDegree to which respect and confidence of co-workers is established.Quality, quantity, and timeliness in the performance of assigned tasks.The manner in which one's conduct reflects the high standards of morals and integrity expected of all Goodwill associates.Ability to meet deadlines and respond to special requests and the desires of management.The manner in which the individual reflects his/her overall personal appearance both in following of the Goodwill dress code and personal hygiene.QualificationsHigh School graduate or equivalent preferred, but on-the-job training is provided.Must have good work habits, such as acceptable attitude and punctuality and must respond appropriately to supervision. Must possess adequate physical endurance to work at industrial standards and must be able to lift up to 25# unassisted, and up to 50# assisted.
