Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.Job SummaryIn this role, you will support material planning and/or material coordination for a small to medium project site. Planning activities will include clear identification of required materials, and details for how they will be stored and shipped. Coordination activities will include reporting of material work package statuses for installation. Your efforts will support adequate and accurate materials and equipment at the jobsite.Major ResponsibilitiesMaterial CoordinationPerforms material coordination activities at jobsite within material discipline of responsibility to ensure the accurate reporting of material and equipment work package statuses for installationMonitors planned inventory control mechanisms, such as min-max and bag-and-tag and uses Supply Chain Automation toolsContinuously performs priority allocations to ensure material availability well in advance of installation requirementsCoordinates material availability in support of design revisions, rework, contingency or work-around plansParticipates in Construction and/or Subcontractor planning meetings to be fully aware of changes in installation plans and prioritiesCoordinates with warehouse personnel for materials to be issued direct to the installation area, as opposed to being controlled in storageMaterial PlanningVerifies that material requisitions clearly identify required pay items and reflect a level of detail in which materials will be shipped and identified for storage and control prior to distribution to Construction for installationMaintains direct working relationship with Project Controls, Discipline Engineers, Supply Chain, Automation Support and/or Construction Coordinator to ensure that construction personnel are provided with materials to support the completion of the construction workMonitors Engineering and Supply Chain deliverable schedules to ensure they will meet the construction scheduleEducation and Experience RequirementsRequires a University Hire with 1-2 years of experience or 5-6 years of relevant work experienceRequired Knowledge and SkillsBasic knowledge of procurement, purchasing, and supply chain processes and terminologyStrong organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining procurement records and documentationEffective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate with buyers, suppliers, and project personnelProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn and use procurement and materials management systemsDesired Qualifications5–10 years of direct experience on large capital projects, including regulated or validated settingsDeep understanding of cGMP regulations, and excellent interpersonal and organizational skillsExperience in the following areas: GMP manufacturing, LEAN, automation, construction, construction quality, CQV (commissioning, qualification, and validation), project controls, the engineering disciplines, safety, and schedulingAbility to lead and coordinate cross-functional teams (Owners, Architects, Engineers, QA/Validation, Contractors) in regulated contextsCertifications or hands-on experience in CQV; CSV awareness; familiarity with FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, and related regulatory frameworksDemonstrated success delivering complex, multi-site projects in validated environments (GMP/GLP/ISO 17025) within labs, biopharma, pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, healthcare, or related sectorsSpecific experience delivering validated environments: GMP/GLP labs, ISO 14644 cleanrooms, ISO 17025 laboratories, or similarTotal Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond!
