Job Title: Procurement Project Manager
Location: Vernon, CA
Department: Procurement
Report To: VP of Procurement
Job Summary:
The Procurement Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing procurement-related projects that support organizational goals. This role manages procurement process improvement, cost savings initiatives, technology implementations, and policy compliance. The ideal candidate brings strong project management skills, procurement expertise, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end planning and execution of procurement and sourcing projects.
Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, risk logs, and communication plans. Track dashboard and KPIs, resolve roadblocks, and ensure successful project delivery.
Implement strategic sourcing and value engineering cost savings initiatives
Identify and lead initiatives to optimize procurement workflows, tools, and templates.
Support procurement analytics, spend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist in implementing procurement technology or ERP modules (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
Promote best practices in contract management, sourcing, and category management.
Work with stakeholders to clarify business requirements and ensure alignment with procurement strategies
Ensure adherence to procurement policies, compliance requirements, and contractual obligations.
Help mitigate supplier risks related to financial stability, supply continuity, and quality.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
15+ years of experience in material management, sourcing, or supply chain project management.
Strong project management skills with experience leading multi-stakeholder initiatives.
Knowledge of procurement processes, contract terms, and sourcing methodologies.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with procurement or ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or similar procurement credential
Experience with change management or technology implementation projects.
