Job description
Product + AI Technical Strategy Manager
Salary: Not Disclosed + Equity
Company Description
Volta Health is a Brooklyn-based seed-stage startup that raised ~$2.5M to build the first AI-native operating system for student health. Founded by a Brown MD and Yale MBA, Volta Health automates insurance and compliance for universities, replacing legacy systems with modern infrastructure to ensure every student can access necessary care.
Job Description
As a foundational Membership Manager at Volta Health, you will sit at the intersection of client trust and AI-driven operations. You will own the full client lifecycle while building the technical automations that scale the platform. This is a high-impact role for product-minded technical leaders wanting to shape a transformative and rapidly growing student healthcare ecosystem.
Location
New York, USA
Why this role is remarkable
Foundational Impact: As the first hire for this function, you will design the playbooks, define the strategy, and build the department from the ground up rather than filling an existing seat.
True AI-Native Culture: You will go beyond using AI tools to actively building and configuring AI-powered workflows and agents that automate complex operational processes across the entire client portfolio.
Tangible Mission: Your work directly impacts whether students can access healthcare, providing critical infrastructure for a market that has been underserved by modern technology for decades.
What You Will Do
Own the end-to-end client experience for university accounts, managing high-intensity summer implementations, peak enrollment seasons, and long-term steady-state operations and renewals.
Serve as the primary technical bridge between clients and engineering, diagnosing complex product issues in real-time and translating field observations into actionable product roadmap requirements.
Design and deploy AI-powered automations and agents to streamline healthcare workflows, proactively resolving edge cases and improving system efficiency without needing constant engineering support.
The ideal candidate
3-5+ years of experience in a client-facing technical role such as a Technical Account Manager, Solutions Engineer, or Technical CSM at a B2B SaaS company.
Hands-on experience building with AI, including configuring agents or using AI coding tools to automate manual operational processes and complex data-heavy workflows.
Exceptional analytical problem-solver capable of managing institutional deadlines and regulated healthcare data while maintaining high-trust relationships with university administrators and health directors.
