Job description

At Cube, we're redefining how organizations deliver, consume, and automate data and analytics across teams, tools, and AI agents. Our mission is to enable Agentic Analytics, where AI agents work alongside humans on a shared semantic foundation

If you're fascinated by building core data and AI infrastructure, the kind that powers analytics at the world's most advanced technology companies, but want the agility and ownership of a startup, Cube is where you'll thrive.

With 19,000+ GitHub stars and 13,000+ community members, Cube is trusted by 400+ companies, including Maersk, Kimberly-Clark, Freshworks, Patagonia, Webflow, Brex, Deel, Tubi, Walmart, and Drata. Our platform empowers AI agents with a universal semantic foundation, enabling autonomous analytics at scale while maintaining consistency, security, and performance across BI tools, spreadsheets, and embedded applications.

As a Product Engineer at Cube, you'll take product ideas from spark to production — owning both what we build and how we build it. You'll pair strong product instincts with hands-on engineering to turn AI- and agent-driven concepts into real products that our users (and their AI agents) rely on every day.

You'll work closely with engineering, product, and leadership in a fast-moving environment where shipping, iterating, and learning from real usage matter more than titles or process.

What you will do:

Take product ideas from concept to production — owning both the "what" and the "how."

Build, prototype, and ship core product features, with a focus on AI- and agent-powered experiences.

Turn user needs and business goals into pragmatic, working software.

Explore practical AI use cases and turn the most promising ones into real product value.

Make fast, sound technical decisions in close partnership with engineering and product.

Iterate quickly based on user feedback, usage data, and your own product judgment.

Who you are:

You have a strong product mindset — you think in terms of user value, outcomes, and what's actually worth building.

You're a hands-on engineer, comfortable owning and shipping production code.

You're genuinely excited about AI, agents, and the data and analytics space — and want to build in it.

You're comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy shaping problems as much as solving them.

You're a strong communicator who thrives in a remote, async team.

You're fluent in English.

Bonus points:

Experience building data, analytics, or AI products.

Background in startups or scale-ups with hybrid or fast-evolving roles.

Practical experience with AI technologies, LLMs, or agent-based systems.

Familiarity with modern backend architectures, cloud platforms, or distributed systems.

Contributions to open-source or public technical projects.

We're a fully remote company based in San Francisco. You can work from anywhere and join our highly collaborative team.
