Job description

Product Manager at Crosby in New York, NY

Crosby is the first AI-native law firm, built on the conviction that the best legal work combines human expertise with technology rather than replacing one with the other. As a Product Manager at Crosby in New York, NY, you'll own a core AI product end to end - the systems internal lawyers and external customers rely on daily. Founded by Stanford Law and Penn alumni, Crosby works with ambitious companies like Cursor, Ramp, and Cognition to sign commercial contracts faster. This role demands technical fluency, deep collaboration with legal experts, and a bias for shipping under ambiguity.

Key Responsibilities

Drive product direction. Own the vision, roadmap, and product surface for the redlining product - taking it from 0 to 1, then scaling it across all contract types to unlock full automation.

Own the evaluation system. Design and operate the infrastructure that measures whether the redlining product is improving and why.

Partner deeply with lawyers. Spend significant time with the internal legal team and design partners to surface what good looks like, where the system breaks, and what to automate next.

Define and analyze metrics. Translate quality, automation, and customer outcomes into measurable signals that drive product direction.

Champion velocity. Move quickly under ambiguity - ship, learn, and iterate every quarter.

Qualifications

5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of building AI/ML-powered products in early-to-mid stage environments.

AI product depth. Hands-on experience writing evaluations, reasoning about model behavior, and picking tradeoffs between agentic architectures. Personal time spent experimenting with AI tools is a strong plus.

Detail-oriented and eager to go deep. You'll become a quasi-domain expert in legal contracts and review workflows through close collaboration with lawyers.

Startup DNA. You thrive in ambiguity, move with urgency, and have proven success in fast-moving early-stage settings.

Technical fluency. You can engage with engineering on architecture, agent design, and eval infrastructure - no coding required.

Bias to action. You ship and iterate; you don't over-plan.

Ownership. You take full responsibility for outcomes, not just deliverables.

Experience with domain experts. Background collaborating with subject-matter experts in legal, medical, financial, or scientific fields is highly valued.

Scaling experience. A background that includes seeing a product evolve from early stage to scale.

Application Process

When preparing your application, emphasize projects where you defined success metrics for AI products, collaborated closely with domain experts, and navigated ambiguity in a startup environment. Be ready to discuss specific strategies for evaluating model performance and scaling a product across diverse use cases.
