We are committed to contributing positively to the communities where we live, work and play.The Production Associate 2 employee at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring we safely make a quality product and minimize waste/cost, so it can be delivered on time to customers. Also, responsible for working with a sense of urgency while maintaining the flow of material throughout the plant by performing the following duties:Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick and pack productsSupport and participate in Employee Engagement activities.Follow defined clean-up times.Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies.Must follow and work to an established rate as defined by customer demand and standardized operationsParticipate in defining and improving standard work to improve quality windows for CustomersIdentify problems; communicate issues.Assist with training co-workers.Support a respectful workplace.Perform other duties across the plant as needed as directed by supervision or managementWhat You'll Need:Ability to read a tape measure as well as read and interpret fractions and decimalsAbility to read at least minimum word and number recognition/Visual CuesOperate power tools with dexterity, basic operations, and knowing when to change PPEIdentify hazards while understanding station knowledge of safety hazards/protocols/PPEVariations – having knowledge of measurement standards and tolerancesFollow instruction and Standard Work while frequently referencing Standard work instructionsKnowledge of product defects specifically to their workstationQuality Recognition In station quality requirements/CTQCommunicate Effectively by actively Listening, Explain Clearly & Accurately, Ask Questions, Share Important Info.Time Management and aware of Cycle TimesAbility to perform math by adding numbers, subtracting, including fractions and decimalsInterface with a computer system by accessing, navigating, identifying downloadStand for 8 to 10 hours using good Posture and repetitive motionProblem Solving using Root Cause AnalysisDependability being on time consistentlyProfile Recognition ability to recognize shapes and compare to sample drawingMonitor Inventory by adhering to min-max levels (WIP)Utilization of ScrapRecord keeping being Accurate, Timely, Legible/ScrapAbility to wear required PPE – metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glassesDependability/punctuality & Detail Oriented.High school diploma is preferred.Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach and stand is requiredAbility to consistently lift at least 50 pounds, 8 to 12 hours a day is requiredAbility to work in hot & cold environment is requiredBe able to work extended hours and weekend based on business needs is requiredWilling & able to work various positions in various departments (cross-trained) is requiredPerform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods is requiredAble to comply with all company policies and procedures, including all safety regulations is requiredAbility to follow Supervisors instructions/directions as given is requiredPossess the following skills: problem solving, teamwork, communication and initiative.Preferred knowledge of WTS Paradigm and various ERP functionalityCompetencies:Cornerstone Building Brands (CBB) Values and Behaviors & Mindsets – Act consistently with CBB's Values (Safety, Integrity, & Inclusion) and Behaviors & Mindsets (Customer-Centricity, Interconnectedness, Continuous Improvement).Anticipation – Proactively identify and solve issues before they become problems.Problem Solving – ability to determine the cause of the problem; identifying, prioritizing, and selecting alternatives for a solution; and implementing a solution.
