Production AssociatePosition Summary: The Production Associate will be assigned to various production lines within our automotive glass manufacturing or fabrication plants. This role will support Carlex production and manufacturing processes to enhance operations by improving yields, reducing waste, lowering cycle times, and reducing overall operational costs.Benefits: We offer a competitive salary and benefits package that includes medical and prescription, dental, and vision insurance, 100% up to the 1st 5% of an employee's deferral matching 401(k) plan*, vacation, holidays, short-term and long-term* disability, paid life insurance, tuition reimbursement, branded work attire, safety shoe program, prescription safety glasses and a vehicle discount purchase program.Essential Job Functions:Visual inspection of productsFollowing safety, quality, performance and attendance rulesLoad and/or unload glass on various conveyor systemsMove racks of product using powered industrial trucksBand racks of product per specificationsPack product into racks for shipment to other areas of plant or to customerPerform adjustments and minor repairs to machinery as needed and/or directedGenerate and maintain appropriate records as required.Achieve operator certification in all functions workedParticipate and embrace continuous improvement (LEAN) actionsRequirements:Years of Experience: 1 or more years in a production environment preferredOther Requirements:Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background checkAbility to work 12-hour shifts or alternate work schedules (depending on the Plant to which assigned)Available to work days or nightsAbility to frequently lift up to 45 lbsReliable transportationRegular and predictable attendanceWork beyond the traditional 40 hours per week may be required as work load or projects dictate, including weekends and holidaysKey Competencies:Basic computer skills preferredStrong work ethicMust be self-motivated with initiative and a drive to complete and deliver excellent work product/serviceTeam player, cooperative, with the demonstrated ability to quickly find common ground and resolve problemsDedication and commitment to complete all assignments/tasks, even when faced with resistance and setbacksGood oral and written communication and people skillsAbility and willingness to uphold the Carlex Values of Safety, Accountability, Results Oriented, Team Approach, Customer Focused, and strong Integrity and EthicsQualifications:Education: High School or better.Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
