Production AssociateThis role supports production operations across two locations, focusing on mechanical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and ensuring all units meet quality and performance standards. The position involves assembling pumps and motors, performing functional tests, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with supervisors and project teams to deliver high-quality products in a manufacturing floor environment.ResponsibilitiesAssemble pumps, motors, and related components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.Perform mechanical fitting, alignment, and torquing using standard hand and power tools.Conduct functional testing on completed pump assemblies, including pressure tests and operational checks to verify performance.Inspect parts and assemblies for defects, deviations, or quality issues and promptly report findings.Troubleshoot mechanical issues that arise during assembly and testing, collaborating with management or engineering teams as needed.Maintain accurate documentation, including build records, test results, and check-in reports.Follow all safety protocols and apply 5S practices to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Support inventory and material handling tasks such as staging parts, returning unused components, and preparing products for shipment.Paint and perform touch-up work on pumps according to customer color requirements.Provide clear feedback to supervisors and project managers regarding production status, issues, and improvements.Work effectively in a team environment on the manufacturing floor, including tasks that involve standing, bending, and crane usage.Essential SkillsMechanical equipment service and repair experience.Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting skills.Ability to perform mechanical assembly work, including pumps and motors.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and follow detailed procedures.Proficiency in using hand and power tools for assembly and repair tasks.Ability to use measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and scales.Capability to work safely and efficiently in a manufacturing floor environment that involves standing, bending, and crane usage.Attention to detail to ensure all units meet quality and performance standards.Effective communication skills to provide feedback to supervisors and project managers.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience as a service technician or mechanic in an industrial or manufacturing setting.Familiarity with functional testing of mechanical equipment, including pressure and operational checks.Experience with 5S or similar workplace organization and continuous improvement practices.Ability to perform basic painting and touch-up work according to customer specifications.Comfort working across multiple locations as needed to support production demands.Why Work Here?Join a collaborative team environment where safety, quality, and continuous improvement are core values. You will work closely with a team in a production setting that emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to established procedures.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77090.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
