Tamale Maker - Start AsapThe Production Associate supports high-volume food manufacturing operations by packaging, palletizing, labeling, and preparing finished tamale products for shipment. This role works in a fast-paced, cold-temperature production environment and follows strict food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.10:30am - 7pm$20.25Spanish speaking okResponsibilitiesPack tamales into trays, containers, boxes, or other designated packaging according to production requirements.Label finished products accurately and clearly based on established specifications.Palletize packaged products for storage and shipment, ensuring proper stacking and organization.Stack, wrap, and secure pallets to ensure safe and stable transport.Inspect packaging for quality, accuracy, and product integrity, identifying and reporting any issues.Move finished goods and packaging materials throughout the facility as needed.Supply packaging lines with boxes, labels, and other materials to maintain continuous production flow.Store finished products according to food safety guidelines and internal company standards.Follow PPE, GMP, HACCP, SSOP, and all food safety procedures at all times.Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and consistent product quality.Support general production, janitorial, and sanitizing duties as needed to maintain a clean and safe work area.Work scheduled 2nd shift hours and be available to work holiday eves as required.Essential SkillsAbility to stand for long periods and work on your feet for a full shift.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs continuously, 40 lbs frequently, and exert up to 50 lbs occasionally.Comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment.Ability to work in a cold environment with temperatures around 50°F.Ability to follow GMP guidelines, including wearing a smock, hair net, and appropriate PPE, and refraining from jewelry and makeup as required.Comfortable working around chicken, beef, and pork products.Ability to read and interpret safety and procedure documents in English.Demonstrated ability to follow food safety procedures, including PPE, GMP, HACCP, and SSOP requirements.Experience working closely with food or in food manufacturing or general production environments.Ability to perform basic janitorial, general labor, and sanitizing duties in support of production.Additional Skills & QualificationsSpanish language skills are a plus for reading and understanding safety and procedure documents.Comfortable working on a 2nd shift schedule (approximately 10:30 a.m. 6:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, with potential slight time adjustments).Willingness to work holiday eves as part of the regular schedule.Comfortable wearing water-resistant shoes and full GMP-compliant PPE.Prior experience in food safety, janitorial duties, or food manufacturing environments is beneficial.Why Work Here?This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to a well-established food manufacturing operation that values safety, quality, and teamwork. Team members work around chicken, beef, and pork products and are exposed to various food-related smells and wet floors. All employees must wear GMP-compliant PPE, including smocks, hair nets, and other protective gear, and adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols. Water-resistant shoes are strongly recommended to stay comfortable and safe on wet surfaces.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.25 - $20.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
