Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCannabis Packaging/Production TechnicianAbout the Role We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Cannabis Packaging Technician to support daily manufacturing, processing, packaging, and quality control operations. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, consistency, and following established procedures in a regulated production environment.
The ideal candidate is dependable, comfortable performing repetitive hands-on tasks, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards for product quality, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities Perform production and processing tasks, including trimming, weighing, filling, packaging, capping, labeling, and product preparation.
Follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Maintain accurate production records, inventory logs, batch documentation, and quality control records.
Ensure product accuracy, consistency, and traceability throughout the production process.
Operate production equipment and utilize computer-based systems for data entry and production tracking.
Inspect products and packaging to identify defects, inconsistencies, or quality concerns.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with facility standards.
Assist with inventory movement, material handling, and production line organization as needed.
Communicate production concerns, equipment issues, and quality discrepancies to supervisors.
Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals and deadlines.
Perform additional production and operational duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age.
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent relevant experience.
Ability to follow written instructions, SOPs, and compliance protocols accurately.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency while performing repetitive tasks.
Basic math skills and the ability to maintain accurate production and inventory records.
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Windows-based software and data entry systems.
Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive hand movements, and safely lift up to 50 pounds.
Strong reliability, time management, and attendance.
Ability to work on-site and maintain a flexible schedule, including early morning or evening shifts as needed.
Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings and meet applicable state licensing and badging requirements.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow direction, receive feedback, and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in cannabis production, processing, packaging, manufacturing, or a similar environment.
Familiarity with state cannabis regulations, seed-to-sale systems, and batch traceability.
Experience operating packaging equipment, filling or capping machines, or other production machinery.
Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Food safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), or Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) training or certification.
Previous quality control, product inspection, sampling, or basic testing experience.
Forklift or pallet jack certification and experience with safe material handling.
Interest in developing a long-term career in manufacturing, quality assurance, or production operations.
