Job description
Production AssociateAs a Production Associate, you play a key role in the manufacturing process by operating equipment, assembling products, and ensuring finished goods meet quality standards. You follow written standard operating procedures and verbal job specifications, use hand and power tools to fasten parts, and support start-up and shut-down activities. You work within an assigned work cell and rotate across different stations and departments as production needs change, contributing to a smooth, efficient, and safe operation.ResponsibilitiesFollow written standard operating procedures (SOPs) and verbal job specifications, applying knowledge gained through experience to complete tasks accurately and safely.Set machine stops or guides as indicated by prints, diagrams, and instructions to ensure proper positioning and processing of workpieces.Observe machine operation continuously to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunctions and take appropriate action to maintain product quality and equipment performance.Position workpieces against stops or align layout marks to prepare materials correctly before activating machinery.Activate machines by pushing buttons or depressing pedals in accordance with operating procedures.Bolt, clip, screw, cement, tape, or otherwise fasten parts together using hand tools and power tools to assemble products to specification.Assist with production start-up and shut-down procedures to ensure equipment is properly prepared and secured at the beginning and end of shifts.Remove finished parts from machines and package them appropriately for delivery, following established packaging standards.Work in an assigned work-cell station and rotate to various positions as production needs require, including supporting other departments when necessary.Perform tasks on production lines where duties vary as different models of the same article move along the line, adapting to changing requirements.Ensure finished goods are shrink-wrapped and staged correctly for delivery to the distribution center.Communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, and management to support coordination, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.Accurately complete all required daily summaries, yield cards, and scrap reports in accordance with company reporting standards.Why Work Here?Employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package with low-deductible health plans and three different coverage options, along with nine paid holidays and an additional floating holiday. The standard schedule is first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime opportunities that may extend hours to 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., typically adding 3 to 8 hours depending on production demands. You work in designated work cells and may rotate among different stations and departments, using hand and power tools and operating production machinery in a structured, process-driven environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Wausau, WI.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $28.50/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
