Production Baker IHot JobCentral Kitchen Oregon - Portland, OR 97214OverviewSalary Range $19.00 - $20.54 Hourly Position Type Full Time Job Shift DayDescriptionProduction Baker IFull-Time | Hourly (Non-Exempt) $19.00 - $20.54Salt & Straw is looking for production bakers to support our central kitchen of Oregon (Ckor) production facility located in Portland's central eastside. The production baker is an entry-level role on the bake team and serves as the primary development pathway into more advanced baking positions within the department. The bake team is responsible for producing inclusions and variegates used throughout salt & straw's finished ice cream products. This role focuses on ingredient preparation, product handling, food safety, recipe execution, and supporting production flow by preparing inclusions to spin-ready specifications. Production bakers help ensure products are accurately prepared, organized, labeled, and ready to support daily production needs.What Salt & Straw Production Bakers DoAssess equipment, tools, and ingredient needs at the start of each assigned projectPrepare inclusions for spin production using semi-automated cutters, hand tools, or manual methodsSupport the bake process by following production schedules and recipe steps appropriate for the roleMaintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while following gmps and food safety standardsTroubleshoot basic ingredient, supply, or product consistency concerns while escalating issues appropriatelyStore, label, and organize sub-assemblies to support efficient bake and spin production flowAccurately complete ingredient tracking sheets, work orders, and required production documentationClean equipment and tools as part of daily sanitation proceduresSupport completion of end-of-day production checklistsAccurately enter production completion data and quantities into netsuiteQualificationsThis role might be right if you:Have prior experience working in commercial food preparation, manufacturing, production, or warehouse environmentsHave baking experience preferredHave strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and instructionsHave basic counting and math skills for measuring and portioning ingredientsAre comfortable working in a fast-paced production environmentCommunicate clearly and work well within a team environmentAre reliable, consistent, and able to follow safety, sanitation, and quality guidelinesShow curiosity, willingness to learn, and interest in growing within the bake departmentAre comfortable working around food allergens and within refrigerated/freezer environmentsAre comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasksWhat you'll getEveryday pay: Optional access to earned wages before payday for added financial flexibility.Monday - Friday work schedule with Saturday option401(k) with company match: Eligible after 3 months of service, with automatic enrollment and a 50% company match on deferrals, up to 1% of pay.Paid time off: Accrues starting at approximately 2 weeks per year, increasing with tenure.Sick leave: Forty hours provided after 30 days of employment plus ongoing accrual based on hours worked.Paid holidays: Twelve paid holidays annually.Medical/dental/vision coverage: Available beginning the first of the month following your start date.Career development & tuition assistance: Career growth opportunities and up to $1,800/year in education reimbursement for eligible programs.Team member discount: Enjoy a 30% discount on our handmade ice cream and merchandise.Additional voluntary benefits: Including accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, commuter benefits, and pet insurance.Wage transparencyThe anticipated hiring range for this position is $19.00 - $19.93.
