Job TitleCivil Engineering SpecialistJob DutiesThe Civil Engineering Specialist is responsible for:Receiving and reviewing all work requests for validity, accuracy, and feasibility, ensuring proper coordination with outside organizations.Managing the CES Operations and material acquisition element, implementing procedures for the management and operation of CES unique work control systems.Estimating requirements for materiel, man-hours, and equipment time, determining funding type, preparing job/work orders, and approving requests within delegated authority.Serving as the focal point for automated work control and supply programs, demonstrating expertise in various computer programs and automated systems.Ensuring fiscal responsibility by establishing job/work orders under the correct organizational funding codes, working with the CES Funds Manager in planning and coordinating supply budget submissions.Establishing and operating the customer service center, managing CES storage facilities, coordinating movement of equipment and material, and providing a central point for information vital to the accomplishment of the CES mission.Coordinating and directing periodic inspections of Real Property and Real Property Installed Equipment, maintaining backlog of essential long-term maintenance and repair requirements.Supervising assigned staff, determining proper work methods and procedures, setting performance standards, and conducting informal training to broaden employee skills.Establishing and operating the CES Command Control Center during normal, contingency, and emergency operations, operating radio networks, LAN computer systems, and telecommunications devices.Performing other duties as assigned.
