Production CoordinatorAmarr, a part of ASSA ABLOY (the global leader in opening solutions), is a leading manufacturer of residential and commercial garage doors. We are committed to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service to our customers.As we continue to grow, we are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Production Coordinator in our Lawrence, KS location.A production coordinator coordinates and provides the training, tools and materials to meet schedule customer demand for a production area(s) of responsibility. All of this must be done within the prescribed policies and procedures of the company.Shift: Varies see offer letterEssential responsibilities include:Coordinating with supervisor in assigning work to meet on time production and quality goals.Controlling the workflow within the area of responsibility to meet efficiency targets, minimize downtime and maximize productivity.Training people and serving as a coach to team members.Recording accurate data on production, labor, team members, and scrap on a timely basis.Ensuring accuracy of inventory and inventory management.Ensuring all purchased and manufactured material are available when needed to meet production goals.Working with maintenance and manufacturing personnel to provide information on matters relative to machine downtime.Ensuring safety best practices are followed by team members at all times.Ensuring all quality standards for the production area are being met.Performing quality checks.Possessing excellent interpersonal communication skills.Being results-oriented and having the ability to motivate others.Filling in for department supervisor in their absence.Obtaining and maintaining a forklift license.Maintaining security of buildings, grounds, equipment, materials, and personnel.Assuming other duties as assigned.The most important activities performed include:Area of responsibility: Hands-on line.Leading by example with excellent attendance, influential interpersonal skills and high desire to succeed for the customer.Facilitating on-the-job training for all new and existing team members for job certifications and performance evaluations.Ensuring the quality and accuracy of products and timely completion of schedules.Maintaining an efficient workforce in accordance with job requirements, work levels and schedules, manpower requirements and training programs.Ensuring the appropriate use of safety devices and equipment, general housekeeping, and maintaining a constant vigilance for hazardous conditions and practices. Ensuring a clean and safe work area.Physical requirements include:Ability to lift 45 lbs. unassisted with or without reasonable accommodation, continuously and frequently overhead. Lifting of more than 45 lbs requires team lifting of at least 2 people.Frequently required to lift, carry, push, or pull objects ranging from 45 lbs to 80 lbs. Weights over 45 lbs require teamwork of at least 2 people.Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time (8-12 hours daily).Ability to move about the manufacturing floor safely and efficiently.Bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs and/or ladders may be required for specific work tasks.Ability to perform tasks that require using hands, wrists, and fingers.Ability to work in loud, fast paced industrial environment.Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination with hand/power tools.Frequent use of computer, keyboard, tablet, and/or scanner may be required for specific work tasks.Ability to work in hot and cold environments.Minimum qualifications required (education/experience/knowledge/skills) include:Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Efficient and productive organizational, time management and analytical skills.Mechanical competence and knowledge and use of safety conscious practices.Knowledge and experience in manufacturing and inventory management.Obtain a forklift license and certification within 45 days from hire date.Pass the Qualification forklift exam prior to interview (internal candidates only).Benefits include medical/dental/vision, paid time off, paid holidays from day one, tuition reimbursement, and a 401k plan (with an automatic 3% company contribution, regardless of your contribution after your first year of employment) among others.
