Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.Production Coordinator, Tool and DieThe Tool and Die Production Coordinator plays a vital role within SpaceX's manufacturing and production teams. Production Coordinators work in support of all insource manufacturing leadership staff to ensure the on-time delivery of components and assemblies through the insource manufacturing process.Responsibilities:Manage and execute the demand planning process for "Make" components, with primary focus on Tool & Die and CNC Machine Shop part flow, while ensuring timely fulfillment of customer requirements for Tool AssemblyMonitor and track the bill of materials in MRP systems for the product scope to ensure on time assembliesExecute purchasing transactions within scope by issuing purchase orders for SpaceX tool and die programs and ensure on-time deliveryMaintain product master data and develop expertise in all material planning systems and reportsDevelop and maintain good relationships with vendors and distributors to ensure communication channels are active with real time delivery information and work in progressProactively update SpaceX management and engineering teams on all critical supply issuesAnalyze available manufacturing data and develop metrics required to drive optimal resultsWork with manufacturing supervisors and managers to ensure all metrics driven action requirements are completedAssist in the development of and maintain reports to highlight needs, deliverables, and constraints as required for internal and customer useCommunicate component, tool status and estimated completion dates to leadership weeklyProactively work with internal and external teams to manage inventory, prevent stock outsWork with the scheduling team to coordinate preventative maintenance and new build activitiesAssist with the resolution of incorrect system data, which is driving inappropriate demand, schedules, or could result in general failureCoordinate off-site processing of parts with engineering and manufacturing to ensure on-time delivery as requiredWork with the procurement, engineering, and production teams to ensure our MRP/ERP data is and remains clean and accurateSupport assigned manufacturing areas with work order management activities as requiredBasic Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency certificate2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or administrative environmentPreferred Skills and Experience:Experience navigating a multitier bill of materials and work ordersExperience working in a production environmentExperience using forkliftsExperience using overhead cranesFamiliarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functionsStrong computer skills, familiar with the full suite of MS Office products2+ years of professional manufacturing scheduling or coordinating experience2+ years of practical experience using ERP/MRP systems in a production environmentDemonstrated ability to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness by thinking strategically and critically and building broad, cross-functional relationshipsHighly skilled at taking in large quantities of information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner, both verbally and in writingAbility to work with limited supervision to develop and manage program plans and schedulesExperience creating and managing dashboards using data visualization toolsExperience with sharing information and influencing others across organizational lines, internally and externallyExperience working in a highly demanding and fast paced environmentAdditional Requirements:Must be able to travel - up to 50% of a work week may be requiredMust be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestonesThis position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsite - remote work not consideredITAR Requirements:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
