Job description
Machine OperatorUnder the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the Machine Operator is responsible for ensuring the proper operation and cleaning of production equipment in the safe manufacture of powder coatings at the Reading/Warsaw sites. Operators may be placed in Grinding, Weigh-Up, or Extrusion production areas.Responsibilities:Take ownership of production assets and ensure they are operated safely and according to established procedures, guidelines, and industry best practices.Perform daily production, preventative maintenance, process data collection, and administration tasks as per procedures and control systems.Report safety, quality, or other issues related to products or production processes to the Team Leader or Shift Supervisor.Ensure all production targets are met while maintaining the appropriate quality standards.Attend and contribute to meetings.Contribute to the investigation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) or quality issues.Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and programs for HSE, Quality, ALPS, or others as may be assigned.Participate in the Safety Journey and adhere to the Golden Principle by intervening to stop work if conditions or behavior are unsafe.Promote health, safety, and environmental regulations by ensuring compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local requirements.Perform other duties as required for the success of the company.Essential Skills:Basic mechanical aptitude.Ability to determine screw profile for product based on batch ticket or run history.Ability to determine cleanliness of machines.Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English, including interpreting process sheets containing product process directions and safety precautions.Demonstrate integrity while performing duties in accordance with the company's Code of Conduct.Additional Skills & Qualifications:Prior experience working in a paint manufacturing facility preferred.Two to three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.Microsoft basic skills preferred.Experience in Quality Control processes including complex testing of production batches.Ability to maintain and calibrate test equipment.Proficiency in maintaining records and charts for all products checked.Experience working with QC manager and production staff to evaluate production or field-related problems.Why Work Here?Enjoy a stable and detail-oriented work environment that is quality and precision-focused. The environment includes older machinery, some dust in the air, but is clean enough to ensure safe working conditions.Job Type & Location:This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reading, PA.Pay and Benefits:The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
