Job description

Production Machine OperatorThis role supports a team-focused manufacturing operation that produces steel components for major commercial and industrial construction projects. You will work directly with steel materials, operate production machinery, and assist with general production tasks in a fast-paced environment. Entry-level and experienced candidates are welcome, and comprehensive training is provided for those new to manufacturing.ResponsibilitiesCut, prepare, and process steel materials for construction products.Operate production equipment such as: ShearsPressesSawsPerform basic assembly and fabrication work.Use hand tools and power tools safely.Measure materials using tape measures and other measuring tools.Inspect products for quality and accuracy.Assist with packing, material handling, and staging products.Rotate between different workstations as needed.Support yard work, cleanup, and general labor tasks.Work with team members to meet production goals.Maintain a clean and safe work area.Follow all company safety procedures.Required Skills & ExperienceManufacturing, production, construction, or general labor experience preferred.Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, lifting, and moving materials.Ability to operate or learn production equipment.Experience using hand tools and power tools.Basic mechanical aptitude.Ability to read a tape measure accurately.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.Positive attitude and willingness to learn.Available for overtime, extended shifts, and occasional Saturdays.Work EnvironmentNon-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.Hot working conditions during summer months.Fast-paced industrial environment.Work with: Steel materialsShearsPressesSawsHand and power toolsTeam-oriented workplace focused on safety and productivity.ScheduleTraining on 1st Shift for 1-4 weeks.Typical 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday: 4:00 PM - 12:30 AMFriday: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PMOvertime may extend shifts up to 10 hours.Occasional Saturday work required.Shift differential available for off-shift employees.Why Join?Union position with excellent benefits.Weekly bonus opportunities.Monthly safety rewards and prizes.Strong promotion-from-within culture.Long-term career growth and advancement opportunities.Paid training provided.Supportive team-oriented environment.Stable manufacturing career with opportunities to develop machine operation and fabrication skills.Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, MO.Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
