Production OperatorProduction Operator Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM Starting Pay: $17.00/hour Temp-to-Hire: Full-time opportunity after approximately 90 days Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Production Laborer to join a well-established manufacturing company that has been in business for over 100 years. This position is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in manufacturing and develop experience across multiple areas of production. The ideal candidate will have previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment, with press operating experience preferred. Reliability, attendance, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic are extremely important for this position. The company manufactures smaller powdered-metal components, including cylinder and ring-shaped parts. Employees will be cross-trained across several areas of the facility as they develop their skills.Responsibilities Employees may be trained and assigned to a variety of production areas, including:Operate production and press machinesLoad powdered metal into press machines and operate pressesPerform sanding, grinding, and deburringUse surface grinders and hand grindersPackage finished productsWork in the furnace room loading and stacking parts by handOperate furnaces to complete the manufacturing processInspect parts and maintain attention to detail throughout productionUse handheld micrometers and/or calipers to check partsPerform basic math and measurementsFollow written work instructions and production requirementsMaintain a clean and safe work environmentFollow all company safety policies and proceduresAssist in other departments and production tasks as neededTraining Day 1 will consist of training with managers and trainers who will explain the company's operations, job responsibilities, safety procedures, and company policies. You will then begin shadowing a lead employee and learning the production process. During your first week, the goal is to have you operating one of the machines and becoming comfortable working independently. You will likely begin in the pressroom, where you will load powdered metal into a press machine and operate the press. The work is repetitive. Success in this position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow written instructions, basic math skills, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
