Job description
Second Shift Machine OperatorGainesville manufacturing company has an immediate opening for 2nd shift machine operator.Job duties:Follows, without exception, all work instructions and safety rules, including use of all PPE and safety equipmentParticipates in the general housekeeping of plant and work areaUnderstands basic monitoring of assigned equipment including start up-shut down & lockout/tag-out procedures for equipment responsibilitiesMonitors and reports any warning lights promptlyAble to demonstrate fork lift proficiencyMaintains expected quality standardsAbility to use digital scales in metric and US standard unitsProperly loads mixersAble to complete required data entry into production systems, accurately, with some assistanceGenerally performs (with supervision), entry level production tasks which include:Operating processing equipmentMoves and stages materialsPackages productsEnters data into the computer systemMonitors equipment, keeping processes running at desired run ratesAbility to use/monitor computerized display and control screensWorks under direction from peers, team leaders and shift managersMaintains proper documentation including batch tickets and partial bagsGenerally assists in preparation of batches and operation of processing equipmentTeam playerGood oral and written communication skills. Ability to properly use plant radios and intercom systemWorks mandatory overtime as requiredSkills/Requirements:To be considered you must have a high school diploma or GED equivalentStrong math, reading, communication and organizational skillsMust display fundamental computer literacyThis position is required to stand for long periods of time, walk, climb stairs, use hands to remove or lift boxes, stretch and reach with arms extended and stoop. Employees regularly lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.2+ years of forklift (ride on, walk behind) experience required2+ years of manufacturing machine operation experience requiredWork schedule:M-Th 2PM-12:30AM, mandatory overtime may be required on Fridays based on work load. Position will train on 1st shift from 4:00am - 2:30pm until moving to 2nd shift.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $19.00 per hourOpportunity for permanent hire with comprehensive benefits.
