Job description
Production OperatorThe Production Operator is under the direction of the Shift Lead/Production Supervisor and will primarily operate various machines and equipment involved in production.Essential Functions:Operates production machinery in accordance with the Structured Job Training (SJT) document. Assigned equipment may include Blender, Screener, Bagger, Shedders, Granulators, Bulk-In and Out, and Unloaders.Produces the required output within established specifications and tolerances.Measures finished product ensuring compliance with function, quality, and aesthetic specifications.Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas in assigned area.Maintains logs and records of material produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or substandard material.Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment.Assists fellow operators to achieve maximum productivity and minimize turnaround time.Required Education & Experience:High school diploma or equivalentPreferred Education & Experience:Operator Certification or associate degree1-3 years' experience working in a manufacturing environmentFork truck licenseRequired Skills and Abilities:Ability to work in a fast-paced environmentUnderstand and adhere to all plant safety guidelinesMust be able to understand verbal and written instructionsAbility to become certified as fork truck driverAbility to use a keyboard and learn applicable computer software programsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailPhysical Requirements:Lift up to 80 lbs. at waist level, up to 80 lbs. at floor level, and up to 40 lbs. at elevated level on a rare basis when moving productsDisplay average coordination with both hands on a continuous basis while performing job tasksPerform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling productsStoop, kneel or squat on an occasional basis when handling productsReach forward and to the side on an occasional basis when handling productsStand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis during the course of each shiftClimb steps on an occasional basisAble to perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per shiftAbility to be on feet for up to 8-12 hours per shiftClimb steps/ladders on an occasional basis
