Job description

Production OperatorJob Summary: We are seeking a Production Operator in our Newark, Delaware facility for our weekend shift. This role is a hands-on production position in fast-paced, high volume manufacturing cell. Key responsibilities include pouring molds, de-molding products, cleaning and assembling molds, assisting with the layup and breakdown of furnace loads, sand blasting and preparing product for shipment. This is a full-time position that alternates weekly between 3x12 (Monday - Wednesday, 5 am - 5pm) and 4x12 (Monday - Thursday, 5am - 5pm) schedules.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesCorrectly identify and build molds according to casting scheduleAssist in building loads for carbonization kilnsAssist in breaking down carbonization kiln loadsClean infiltrated product, using the grit-blasting machines, per procedureMaintain grit-blasting machines with basic preventive and routine maintenance (daily)Follow standard work procedures and detailed instructionPrioritize in a multi-task work cellKeep accurate written documentationMaintain clean, safe and organized work environmentAssist in preparing and breaking down of furnace loadsAll other duties, as assignedEducation & ExperienceWork effectively with minimal supervision.Able to get along well with others.Basic proficiency in data entryGood communication (oral and written) skills.Ability to keep accurate records.Working ConditionsManufacturing environmentPhysical RequirementsAble to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are 50 pounds (or heavier with assistance) repeatedly.Able to sit, stand, bend, squat, and walk about the facility 12 hours/daySafety RequirementsAll employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp.
