We support our employees with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.Additional Compensation, Growth, and Pay Opportunities6 Month Bonus: Eligible employees may receive a $500 bonus after six months of employment, provided they remain in good standing for safety, attendance, and performance.90-Day Pay Increase: Employees are eligible for a pay increase after 90 days, with the opportunity for additional increases based on performance and progression.Skill-Based Pay Progression: Operators can increase their earnings by advancing through defined skill levels based on demonstrated capability, experience, and continued development.Weekly Pay: Employees are paid on a weekly basis.Overtime Opportunities: Weekend overtime may be available based on business needs.Position SummaryFollows current safety policies and procedures and production SOP's (standard operating procedures) to process WIP (work in process) and FP (final product) through the screening and packaging stages.Essential FunctionsFollows all safety rules and job function related Production SOPsSelects proper size screen, measured in mesh or TBC; checking for dirt and holes.Assembles screen to machines checking for proper assembly (tight, locking, and caps.)Checks the position of the screening equipment so that it is centered under hopperChecks position of drums under the discharge chutes, and that the correct number of drums are usedPrepares proper drum size with plastic linerPrepares color coded labels and tape for drum per standard operating procedure (SOP) for correct product name, product code number, batch number, date, and partial weight (when available)Screens ingredients according to instructions by operating circular vibratory screens to include selecting correct ingredient, screen size, ensuring that equipment is fully operational, taking test samples at prescribed intervals and ensuring that products are accurately drummed, weighed and labeledPerforms material handling duties as needed to maintain Encap production operations by moving material (raws, WIP and/or FP) to any area (staging, holding, warehouse) as neededPerforms housekeeping duties to maintain equipment and work areas in sanitary conditionFollows all safety policies and procedures including use of safety equipment (PPE) and equipment safeguardsOther related dutiesResponsible for food safetyResponsible for notifying supervisor of any incident affecting food safetyRequirementsHigh School or equivalent educationAbility to read, write and perform mathematical calculationsGood oral communication skillsMust pass basic skills test, drug screen and background checkWorking ConditionsContinuous physical activity throughout the work day such as climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting (60 lbs.), hearing, talking, repetitive motion, and moving objects (up to 250 lbs.)Salary Range: $18 - $19 per hourBalchem is committed to a workplace culture that values and promotes diversity, inclusion, equal employment opportunities, and a work environment free of harassment and hostility.
