Job description
Production OperatorAt Gold Star, we offer feed and nutrition services and commodity trading in the northeastern U.S., primarily to dairies. As feed and commodity specialists, our customers count on us to originate feed for the mills, manufacture it according to their unique specifications and handle logistics for a safe and smooth delivery every time.As a Production Operator you will organize, perform and complete the manufacturing of meal & pelleted feeds to order. Includes monitoring and testing for quality assurance as required. Complete the required daily reports.Job Functions:Safety OrientatedOperate the Bag Feed manufacturing, scales and sewing machinesClimbing ladders and working at heights on top of facilityPerform scale weight test weeklyDump bag ingredients into mixes as formula requiresShrink wrap and label pallets as required per orderLoad – unload trucks at the dock as neededWait on customers as neededLoad Gold Star Bag Trucks or Bulk Trucks for deliveriesPull Bag orders for next day's bag truck deliveriesInsure bulk commodities are flowing from bulk binsRefill Micro ingredient hoppers if neededOperate Bulk Feed manufacturing systemAssist WEM room operator as neededAssist Ingredient receiver as neededPerform daily inspections of Fork TrucksPerform minor maintenance on equipment including lubrication and adjustmentsClean control room dailyClean warehouse dailyClean mill on regular scheduleAssist with any other tasks as requested or assigned by managementReports to mill foremanRequirements:High school diploma or equivalent is preferredBasic understanding of computers, math comprehension and previous plant environment is helpfulMechanical aptitude in prior work history.Must have the ability to climb ladders, lift up to 75 lbs, bend, kneel, stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, work with heights, and work long hours in harsh environments (hot, cold temperatures and a dusty conditions).Exhibit good work habits, including excellent attendance and individual productivityRequires the successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen and a background check.Position offers a complete benefit package, including 401K, health, life and dental insurance on date of hire.
