As a Production Operator, you'll be responsible for performing essential operational and maintenance tasks to keep our pipe mill running safely and efficiently.Your Day-to-Day ImpactCommitting to safety and quality in all tasksPerforming area 5S tasks to maintain cleanliness and organizationWorking any assigned shift with flexibilityCompleting autonomous maintenance tasks (greasing, oiling, checking fluid levels)Operating overhead cranes, jib cranes, and motorized vehiclesParticipating in continuous improvement activitiesTroubleshooting minor electrical and mechanical issuesKnowing the location of all shutdown and lockout switches in your areaRemoving scrap and maintaining a clean work environmentOperating all floor stations in your assigned areaMaking equipment adjustments as directed by operators or supervisorsUnderstanding the functionality of all equipment in the pipe millIdentifying and reporting quality defects immediatelyMinimizing operational delays by proactively addressing breakdowns and hazardsCompleting shift reports and submitting to Team Leader by end of shiftExecuting tooling and roll changesPerforming effective equipment repairs within your expertiseUsing QA tools and measurement instruments (micrometers, etc.)Other duties as assignedWhat You BringHigh School Diploma or GED (required)General mechanical skills; ability to use torch and tools effectivelyAbility to learn all area-specific responsibilitiesLanguage skills: Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manualsMath skills: Add, subtract, multiply, divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimalsReasoning ability: Apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructionsAbility to solve problems involving several concrete variablesWillingness to cross-train in all floor operator areasPhysical ability to perform all job functionsStrong teamwork, adaptability, reliability, initiative, and safety awarenessAbility to give and receive constructive feedbackPride in performance and commitment to continuous improvementEffective communication skillsPrevious training and experience in a manufacturing environmentPreferred: Experience with steelmaking and/or pipe mill operationsWhat You'll GainGet paid for what you know – and earn more as you learn moreOpportunities to work on cutting-edge equipmentA culture that values your input and celebrates improvementReal growth potential in a stable, essential industryOvertime opportunitiesAnd Benefits that Include:Medical, Dental, and Vision CoverageCompany-Paid Life Insurance & Short/Long-Term DisabilityProfit Sharing: Up to 4%401(k): Company match 4.5% with no vesting periodPaid Parental Leave (including adoptions)Paid Holidays: 10 days, plus 1 personal floating holidayPaid Vacation TimeDiscretionary Performance-Based Bonus ProgramTuition ReimbursementSafety isn't negotiable, it's who we are.
