At Versiti, we are passionate about improving the lives of patients and helping our healthcare partners thrive.Position SummaryUnder the direction of the department leadership, prepares quality biological blood components within the prescribed time following regulatory and operational standards as specified in the Standard Operating Procedures and departmental procedures.Schedule & Availability: Tuesday - Saturday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PMParticipates in a rotational on-call schedule, including coverage before and after regular hours, weekends, and holidays, as neededFull-time, non-exempt positionTotal Rewards PackageCompensation The target salary is based on internal averages. Full-time regular employes are eligible for Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holidays, Short- and Long-term disability, life insurance, 7% match dollar for dollar 401(k), voluntary programs, discount programs, others.ResponsibilitiesChecking in blood products and performing visual inspectionsPerforming Daily and Quarterly Inventory ReconciliationImporting/Exporting blood productsProcessing blood product returns and creditsPacking and shipping blood products to our local hospitalsPacking and shipping recovered plasmaCommunicating with hospitals regarding recalls, delays, order fulfillment, or substitutionsIrradiating blood productsMonitoring our room and storage devices for temperature and motion acceptabilityDispatching orders and arranging for delivery by a transportation driver, Volunteer, hospital services cross-trained team member, courier, or state patrolLAX/MARSH - delivering orders, picking up returns, and sample pick-ups from our hospitalsLAX/MARSH - assists in Pharmacy duties (receiving inventory, reconciling inventory, packing & shipping orders)LAX/MARSH - being on-call before and after hours of operationsHQ - being on-call on weekendsLabels products to meet regulatory and inventory requirementsFollows procedures pertaining to the proper storage of RBCs, platelet products and frozen productsPerforms and documents equipment function checks and QC as requiredMaintains a level of productivity that allows department to achieve production goalsPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsQualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent requiredExperienceLess than 1 year 1-6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience requiredKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to read, interpret, and write documents such as operating forms, operating and maintenance instructions, and other department manuals requiredAbove average attention to detail and problem-solving skills requiredAbility to apply judgment to written or oral instructions requiredAptitude for computers and data entry skills requiredAbility to manage interruptions in a fast-paced environment requiredCustomer service and communication skills requiredAble to organize work to provide productive work flow needed in component manufacturing requiredFlexibility to work independently and with a team requiredOrganized, able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at one time requiredBe able and available to work a flexible working schedule as required based on volume and timing of blood collections requiredAbility to work independently with limited written or oral instruction requiredUnderstands military time requiredTools and TechnologyGeneral office equipment (computer, printer, fax, copy machine) requiredMicrosoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) requiredSoftware systems (Blood Establishment Computer Systems, Title21) requiredLab specific equipment, including, but not limited to: • Sealers • Centrifuge • Water bath • Scales required
